Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — September 2, 2025 Africa Climate Week 2025 (CW2) officially opened today at the Addis International Convention Center, marking a pivotal moment in the global climate calendar. Running from September 1–6, CW2 brings together a diverse coalition of governments, climate experts, financial institutions, civil society, and youth leaders to accelerate the shift from climate ambition to real-world implementation. Hosted by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and organized under the UNFCCC framework, CW2 is the second Climate Week of the year and serves as a strategic lead-in to COP30, set to take place in Belém, Brazil this November. The week’s theme, “Turning Ambition into Action,” underscores the urgency of translating pledges into measurable progress.
