AICCRA at COP30: Scaling the delivery of powerful data- and AI- driven tools for farmers

Climate services help smallholder farmers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America manage climate risk by providing timely, location-specific information on weather patterns, seasonal forecasts, and extreme events. These services enable farmers to make informed decisions—such as when to plant, irrigate, or harvest—reducing losses from droughts, floods, and pests. By linking scientific data with local knowledge and communication channels like radio, mobile phones, and farmer networks, climate services strengthen farmers’ resilience, improve productivity, and support more sustainable, climate-smart agricultural practices.

As climate extremes intensify, the difference between crisis and resilience often comes down to access—to the right information, at the right time, in the right hands. National Frameworks for Climate Services (NFCS) and Early Warning Systems (EWS) offer the foundation for countries to move from reactive disaster response to proactive climate risk management.

Join us for an event at COP30 to scale what works, close the gaps between data and action, and build a future where every decision is climate-informed and every community is climate-ready.

Scaling the delivery of powerful data- and AI- driven tools for climate-resilient smallholder farmers around the world

Saturday 15 November | 11:20 – 12:35 | Embrapa Agrizone, Auditorium A1

This event will bring together governments, regional climate centers, development partners, and the private sector to accelerate the adoption and implementation of NFCS and EWS. Through real-world examples and interactive dialogue, we will explore how to strengthen institutional coordination, integrate science with local knowledge, and ensure that climate information reaches the communities and sectors that need it most.
