Brace for heavy rain after heatwave, govt warns

Uganda is set to experience near-normal to above-normal rainfall across most regions during March, April, and May, according to a seasonal forecast released by the Ministry of Water and Environment.

Dr Alfred Okot Okidi, the ministry’s permanent secretary, alongside meteorologists, informed journalists yesterday that the current dry conditions are expected to persist until mid-March, when seasonal rains will begin.”

Uganda is preparing for a period of near-normal to above-normal rainfall across most regions, according to a new seasonal forecast released by the Ministry of Water and Environment. The announcement, which came from a press briefing yesterday, signals a significant shift from the current dry conditions that have persisted since the beginning of the year.
