The Scorecard Addendum for Education System Resilience for Extreme Weather Events was developed collaboratively by Belmont University, the Aga Khan Foundation and Aga Khan University, Restless Development, Creative Action Institute and UNDRR in consultation with multiple experts and stakeholders. The questions were designed and validated through a scientific consensus-based approach and the Addendum was piloted in four workshops across Tanzania in 2024.
This Scorecard Addendum contains questions that allow users to self-assess the resilience of the education system to extreme weather extremes and disasters across ten essential areas of disaster risk reduction at the local level (the “Ten Essentials for Making Cities Resilient”). The results of the self-assessment can help local governments and education stakeholders identify, recommend and design priority actions to strengthen education systems’ resilience.
There are a total of 27 questions, each with indicators that are rated from 0 to 5, with 5 being the maximum possible score.
It is recommended for use in a multi-sectoral, in-person facilitated workshop.
