Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — The Green Jobs and Skills Pavilion is set to be a key feature of the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), aiming to tackle the continent’s twin challenges of youth unemployment and the climate crisis. Hosted by Jacob’s Ladder Africa (JLA), the pavilion will run from September 8th to 10th, 2025, in Addis Ababa.
A New Vision for Africa’s Workforce
The pavilion will serve as a platform for African youth, policymakers, business leaders, and innovators to collaborate on a just, inclusive green transition. The organizers, Jacob’s Ladder Africa, believe that by creating a skilled green workforce, Africa can lead global climate transformation and unlock significant economic opportunities. The focus is on moving beyond discussions to tangible action, where climate initiatives directly translate into job creation.
Bridging the Gap
Africa has a rapidly growing youth population and an urgent need for climate action. The Green Jobs Pavilion proposes a solution that addresses both issues simultaneously. It aims to showcase how the continent’s human potential can be harnessed to create the green jobs of the future, thereby building a more sustainable and prosperous future for all Africans.
