Belém, Brazil — October 27, 2025
The Social Art Award 2025 will be officially launched during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, organizers have confirmed. The event, scheduled for 17 November 2025 from 17:00 to 18:15 CET, will take place online and is expected to draw participation from artists, youth leaders, and climate advocates worldwide.
According to the Institute for Art and Innovation (IFAI), the launch will unveil the publication Planetary Healing: Blue Tribes for Ocean Health, which features the Top 100 international entries from this year’s award. The book also includes essays, interviews, and reflections from artists, curators, and thought leaders addressing the intersection of ocean health, social transformation, and collective regeneration.
In a statement, IFAI emphasized that this year’s theme underscores the role of art in bridging science, policy, and society. “Art can foster empathy, dialogue, and shared responsibility for our blue planet,” the organization noted.
The event is being co-organized by IFAI and the Alliance for Youth-Led Futures (AYLF), with support from the WHO Youth Council and Youth4Planet. The program will feature award-winning artists, youth peacebuilders, and jurors in a moderated dialogue on how creativity can contribute to mental well-being, social cohesion, and planetary healing.
AYLF representatives highlighted the importance of intergenerational collaboration, stating that the initiative aims to “amplify youth voices in global climate discourse through artistic expression.”
The launch will also mark the debut of the Youth Social Art Award – Peace & Health for All, a new initiative inviting young artists aged 13 to 30 to submit works envisioning healthier and more peaceful societies. Organizers explained that the award seeks to encourage youth-led contributions to cultural and environmental resilience.
The Social Art Award is supported by a broad coalition of partners, including the Bertelsmann Foundation, World Health Organization, Rewired Earth, Audiotool, GE4A, EthicalFin, and others. In a joint statement, the Alliance for Youth-Led Futures expressed gratitude to all contributing artists, jury members, and institutional partners, noting that their collaboration “continues to shape a cultural infrastructure for peace, health, and planetary justice.”
The event is part of the official COP30 program and will be accessible globally via livestream. Further details and registration information are available through IFAI’s official channels.
