NAIROBI, May 28 (NECJOGHA) — A pre-launch webinar for the second cohort of the Youth Voices Third-Party Funding Mechanism will be held on June 6, offering youth-led organisations across Africa and Europe guidance on how to apply for grants aimed at amplifying young people’s voices in policy and decision-making.

The online session, scheduled from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. East Africa Time, falls under the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab — Power of the Collective, a joint initiative between the African Union and the European Union. Organisers said the webinar will walk participants through the call for proposals, eligibility requirements and the application process.

The funding mechanism targets youth-led groups working with hard-to-reach or marginalised young people, according to organisers. Priority will be given to initiatives focused on advocacy, inclusion, coalition building and strengthening youth participation in governance spaces across both continents.

The announcement reflects a broader push by the African Union and European Union to deepen structured engagement with youth civil society, an area officials say has historically been underfunded despite young people comprising the majority of Africa’s population. The first cohort of the mechanism drew applications from organisations across multiple African regions and European member states.

Interested organisations can register for the webinar through the link provided on the programme’s official page. The deadline for registration has not been publicly disclosed.
