Kenya Meteorological Society Holds 27th AGM, Calls for Stronger Climate Resilience

Nairobi, Kenya – January 17, 2026 The Kenya Meteorological Society (KMS) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing weather and climate science for resilient communities, following its 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on January 16, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Nairobi Arboretum.

According to a LinkedIn post published by the Society on January 17, the AGM brought together members both in person and online, reflecting the strength and unity of Kenya’s professional meteorological community. The meeting addressed key issues of governance, financial accountability, and strategic direction, underscoring the Society’s role in shaping climate services and innovation in the country.

KMS management, represented by Dr. Bethwel Mutai, Wambongo C. S. Recha, Cohen Ang’u, Absae Sedah, Dr. Margaret Kimani, and Maria Lokitari, expressed appreciation to members for their active participation. “Your continued engagement and valuable contributions are a testament to the strength and unity of our professional community,” the Society noted in its statement.
