This June, the WCRP Academy launches the first session of its Climate Leadership Webinar Series, an initiative that aims to equip climate scientist-leaders with essential leadership skills and knowledge. This is part of the Academy’s Future Leaders Programme, which aims to develop the next generation of climate scientist leaders.
The first-ever session will focus on science communication, providing the participants with practical principles and strategies for effectively communicating their scientific knowledge and work to broader audiences. It will discuss the following topics:
- Principles of Adult Learning (June 10, 2026 – 9AM Cape Town | 3PM Manila | 5PM Hobart)
- Introduction to Facilitation (June 15, 2026 – 9AM Cape Town | 3PM Manila | 5PM Hobart)
- Elevating Communication and Presentation Skills for Impact (June 18, 2026 – 9AM Cape Town | 3PM Manila | 5PM Hobart)
The session will be delivered by Sarika Govender, training coordinator of the Climate Systems Analysis Group (CSAG) at the University of Cape Town.
