NAIROBI, June 29 – Registration has opened for the 2nd Eastern Africa Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action (EADP‑2), a regional summit set to strengthen preparedness against climate and disaster risks across Eastern Africa.
The three‑day meeting will take place from October 28 to 30 in Mombasa, Kenya. The platform will focus on “Transforming Risk into Resilience: Institutionalising Anticipatory Action through Localisation, Multi‑Stakeholder Coordination, Sustainable Financing and Evidence‑Driven Policy.”
Partners include the World Food Programme, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, OCHA, the Climate Centre, ILRI and the University of Sussex, with support from the European Union Civil Protection and German Humanitarian Assistance.
The event is part of a regional push to embed anticipatory action acting on forecasts before crises escalate into national and local systems. Organisers say the platform will provide space for policymakers, scientists and civil society to share lessons and chart strategies for scaling up early warning and early action.
Registration closes on July 31, 2026. More details are available ateadp.icpac.net.
